Inspired by Matt de la Pena’s award winning Last Stop on Market Street, eighth grade Nichols students will be selling their handmade ceramic bowls as a fundraiser for the Beth Emet Soup Kitchen, one of Evanston’s community soup kitchens.
Where: Beth Emet - 1224 Dempster , Evanston Date: November 13, 2016
Time: 11:30 am
Cost: $5 per person for a bowl, soup, bread, and salad
$20 max per family
Other Details: Please park on the street due to Sunday School pick-up.

The Soup Fundraiser was a BIG success. Everyone had their fill of great soup and wonderful fellowship...
I am also hoping to introduce Motesem Mansur to this year's sixth graders, to discuss bullying and how art can be a means to an end of it.
We are discussing plans about a class towards the end of October to create a collage' against prejudice.

Mr. Mansur will be working with students to create a banner on Nov 2, helping them to visualize a "World Without Prejudice".

On November 1st, I will be working with Ms. Cabrera decorating sugar skulls as they learn about Dia de los Muertos. I've invited local Evanston artist Alfonso "Piloto" Nieves Ruiz to attend to discuss his work. Mr. Ruiz did work that honored the 43 students that were murdered in Iguala, Mexico

I've selected students to participate in this "combined efforts" art show, that introduces potential students to Fine Arts at ETHS
